The Magewell Pro Convert SDI Plus is a standalone NDI receiver that converts NDI video from your network into an HD-SDI output at up to 1080p. At £434, it is the practical solution for broadcast environments with SDI infrastructure who need to receive NDI streams and feed them into SDI monitors, routers, production switchers, and downstream recording equipment. If your production network runs NDI and your output equipment runs SDI at HD resolution, this device handles the conversion in a robust, rack-friendly form factor with no PC required.
The Pro Convert SDI Plus connects to your Ethernet network, receives an NDI stream from any NDI source on that network, and outputs it as an SDI video signal at up to 1080p. It is a standalone appliance managed through a web browser interface with no host PC required. Source selection and all device configuration are accessible remotely through the web UI, making it practical for rack-mounted deployments where the device is located away from the operator position.
Three SDI receiver options exist in the Pro Convert range. The SDI 4K Plus at £742 outputs 12G-SDI at 4K for broadcast environments operating at 4K resolution. This device, the SDI Plus at £434, outputs HD-SDI at 1080p in the Plus form factor, which is the right choice for standard HD broadcast SDI environments where a robust, well-featured device is needed in a permanent rack installation. The compact Pro Convert for NDI to SDI at £332 outputs HD-SDI in a smaller physical package at a lower cost. If your SDI infrastructure is HD and physical installation space is not a constraint, the SDI Plus is the more feature-complete option. If space is tight or budget efficiency is the priority and the full Plus feature set is not needed, the compact variant provides the same fundamental NDI-to-SDI conversion at a lower price.
Convert physical SDI or HDMI sources into NDI for integration with vMix, TriCaster, or any NDI-based production system.
Encode AV sources at the edge of an IP network for distribution to production or display systems across the network.
Place encoders at camera positions to feed video into an NDI IP production network without long cable runs.
Convert classroom or auditorium sources to NDI for network distribution to remote locations.
