The Magewell Eco Capture AIO M.2 provides HDMI, SDI, and analogue input from a single M.2 slot on the motherboard, requiring no PCIe expansion slot. AIO stands for all-in-one: a multi-format capture card in M.2 form factor, for compact and embedded systems that need to accept more than one type of video signal from hardware where PCIe is not an option. At £230, it is the most affordable card in Magewell's Eco Capture M.2 range and the entry point for multi-format M.2 capture.
The M.2 connector is the same one used by NVMe SSDs. It is present on virtually all modern motherboards, and increasingly common in compact systems, NUC-style PCs, embedded computing hardware, and small form factor rack servers that have no PCIe card expansion at all. Magewell's Eco Capture M.2 cards use the PCIe lanes carried by the M.2 interface to perform video capture. The card is physically the size of an NVMe SSD stick, installs flat on the motherboard with a single retaining screw, and requires no bracket, no slot cover, and no card clearance. If you have installed an NVMe SSD before, you already know how to install this card.
The Eco Capture AIO M.2 is the right card for deployments that need to handle multiple signal types from hardware without available PCIe slots:
The alternative to an all-in-one card in a constrained system is typically a signal converter upstream of the capture point, converting all sources to a single format before they reach the card. Converters add hardware, add potential failure points, and often add latency on at least one signal path. The Eco Capture AIO M.2 accepts HDMI, SDI, and analogue inputs directly: each signal type connects to its appropriate input on the card and is captured without conversion in the upstream signal chain. Each input presents as a separate capture device to the host OS.
The Eco Capture AIO M.2 at £230 is the most affordable M.2 option in the range and the only card at this price that handles three different signal types from a single slot. It trades the higher resolution ceilings and channel counts of format-specific M.2 cards for signal-type flexibility at the lowest cost. If your sources are exclusively HDMI, the Eco Capture HDMI 4K M.2 or Dual HDMI M.2 will be more appropriate. If your sources are exclusively SDI, the Dual SDI M.2 or Quad SDI M.2 offer more channels. The AIO M.2 is the right card when the signal format mix is the primary requirement and a single low-cost M.2 card is the operating constraint.
