Magewell Control Hub Lite: Centralised Device Management for Small Magewell Deployments

Control Hub is Magewell's device management software for monitoring and controlling Magewell Pro Convert, Ultra Encode, and compatible devices from a single web-based interface. Control Hub Lite is the entry-level licence tier, suited to smaller deployments where a central management point adds genuine value but the advanced features of the higher tiers are not required.

This is a software licence, not a hardware product. The licence activates the Control Hub platform for use with a defined number of connected Magewell devices.

What Device Management Actually Means

Without Control Hub, each Magewell device on your network has its own individual web interface. For two or three devices in a single location, logging in separately is manageable. For five or more devices distributed across a building, a facility, or a rack of Modator modules, checking in on each device individually is time-consuming and makes it easy to miss issues until they become problems.

Control Hub brings all of your connected Magewell devices into a single browser window. From one interface, you can:

• See the current status of all connected devices at a glance: online, offline, active, or in a fault condition
• View input and output signal status across all devices in real time without opening each device's interface individually
• Configure device settings across multiple units from one place rather than navigating to each device separately
• Push firmware updates to all devices centrally rather than updating each unit one at a time

What the Lite Tier Covers

Control Hub Lite is appropriate for smaller deployments, broadly in the range of one to five Magewell devices. It covers the core management functionality: device status monitoring, configuration access, and firmware management. It does not include the automated alerting, scheduled task, or API features available in the Basic, Plus, and Pro tiers. For a small installation where the primary need is a central view of your Magewell devices rather than automated monitoring or integration, Lite is the correct and most economical starting point.

Upgrading Between Tiers

Control Hub is available in Lite, Basic, Plus, and Pro tiers. If your deployment grows or you need features such as automated alerting, API access, or Active Directory authentication, you upgrade the licence to the appropriate tier. The platform itself is the same; the licence level determines device capacity and available features.
