The Ultra Encode SDI Plus Module takes SDI video input and encodes it to H.264 or H.265, then delivers the output over IP via SRT, NDI, RTMP, and other streaming protocols. It is the module version of Magewell's Ultra Encode SDI Plus, designed for the Modator Chassis 2U. Up to eight modules can be installed in a single chassis, giving you up to eight independent SDI encoding channels in 2U of rack space with shared power and management.

At £446 per module, it brings professional-grade, multi-protocol SDI encoding into the Modator ecosystem where scalable channel counts are needed in a compact footprint.

What This Module Does

The module accepts an SDI input signal, encodes the video using H.264 or H.265 compression, and streams the result over the network using one or more of the supported output protocols:

• SRT (Secure Reliable Transport): for contribution and distribution over the public internet where network conditions are variable and reliability is a requirement
• NDI: for delivery into NDI-based production environments, software decoders, and other Magewell devices on the local network
• RTMP: for direct delivery to streaming platforms including YouTube Live, Facebook Live, and other RTMP-capable CDNs
• RTSP and other standard protocols for local network streaming, recording, and monitoring applications

Each module in the chassis operates independently, with its own SDI input and its own output protocol configuration. You can have eight modules encoding eight completely different SDI sources to eight different destinations simultaneously.
